Intro to the tronomatic sales manual

Long ago in the age of the typewriter a little known salesman working for the Great Bear Spring Water company in New York City, stumbled across the secrets to sales success while stepping over a pile of trash on the sidewalk near the intersection of Broadway and 56th street in Manhattan.

The salesman quickly took some notes and went home to his tiny apartment where he typed out the secrets. He shared the new manual with his compatriots and Great Bear became the mightiest water company in the city.

The manual became known as the Tronomatic sales manual, as its author became known as a selling machine, too much for the competitors to withstand. His work and the work of the other sales team members who followed the manual helped Great Bear became so mighty, that its owners, KKR, sold it for a huge profit to the Perrier Group of North America.

But the sales people survived and the manual survived. Although its author Tron Jordheim had lost the manuscript, he used the principles to create many more sales successes. Then one day in 2003, Tron got an email from Tom Snyder, one of the former sales team members at Great Bear. Tom had remembered the Tronomatic sales manual and had kept a copy with him as he moved into a new career in the insurance industry. He used the manual to create one success after another and still had an original copy in his desk. He pulled it out from time to time to remind him of the power he had developed as a sales professional and to remind him of the simple principles that had made him successful. Tom stumbled across Tron on an internet search and was kind enough to let Tron know that a simple piece of paper had made a difference.

Tom scanned the copy and forwarded it to Tron. What you see is a PDF of what may be the only existing copy of the manuscript. Its language is archaic. After all it was written in 1984. But it still rings true if you open your mind to its simple complexity.
